Forumotion Rules Empty Forumotion Rules

Post by Canary Sat May 14, 2016 11:54 pm

This thread is just to explain that the rules on forumotion sites are made by forumotion itself, NOT by the site owners.  Laughing

I have sometimes seen site owners blamed for making 'overly-strict' rules, .. by people who do not realise this basic elementary fact.
For example, the list of rules on my site has nowt to do with me. It's not me who made the rules, t's and c's.

Similarly, the notices people get when an application to join is rejected. These are AUTOMATIC notices, sent out by forumotion.
Some people look at the wording which is something like "You have not posted for a long time so you are being deleted but you can always re-apply" ..
... and think it's the site owner who wrote it. Wrong! It's actually quite misleading cos even if the person is never activated in the first place, they get that same notice. Weird!!!

OK,  the reason I am taking the time and trouble to painstakingly explain all this is because I have seen people embarassing themselves by complaining that a site owner has made rules that are too strict, or a site owner has sent them a strange message, when in fact those in the know realise what is going on.

An applicant called "TYTONIC" is about to  deleted from my database, without ever being activated, .... and if they are a member here, when they get the deletion notice, hopefully they won't be puzzled and start asking questions, or complaining that it was me who worded the deletion notice.

I hope everyone is well and that you are all having a great summer. I am having a fantastic summer too. It's not that the weather is all that nice, it's my attitude and general outlook on life that has changed. Cannaddalink is very active but at the same time peaceful, and I have no complaints on that score either.

Bye now x

I'm very well aware of the Forumotion rules, so I'm not sure why this thread was started. Nobody on here has complained that the rules are too strict. I suspect this is a dig at me for allowing "trolling", yes?

FG rocks and is FAIR, NOT despotic and nasty, is truthful, does not ENCOURAGE gang mentality, false accusations by anyone to ban someone, her forum experience shows through quite clearly.

Why does Canary use this and the forum of others to make certain points which no one is interested in?

Why does Canary ALWAYS bark that "her forum is busy" when we know it is NOT and do not care.

I wonder if Canary remembers the time she PMd me to gang up on "fat face Northernstar" as she called her, yeppuz, you heard me right???????

Oh, and Canny, don't tempt me - if you have something to say, do it in public, not via PM. You never pick up your PMs anyway, so there's no point in replying.

I'm moving this to the open bit so you can see it.

Oh dear. You are off by a zillion, zillion miles. You could not have got this more wrong if you tried.  Literally the worst case of someone getting hold of the WRONG end of the stick that I have ever seen. You will probably blush scarlet and apologise to me, when you realise what this thread is about. Get ready to blush, Fenella.  Embarassed  Embarassed  Embarassed  And feel free to apologise if you want, it's up to you.  This thread is not about a row, or even a minor argument. I don't do "rows" anymore. I have moved on from rowing/fighting, totally. And no, it's not a re-invention of myself. It's just that I've grown to hate the circus scenario that rows create.

This thread was made as an extremely peaceful thread. FGS I even posted a friendly message underneath the thread.

And the ONLY reason in the world why I did this thread, was because I was about to delete ( ie not activate) an applicant who applied to join, called "Tytonic" who is notorious for grumbling that the rules which forumotion makes are my rules, and the wording of notices is my wording. He makes threads to grumble about it.

The thread was absolutely nowt to do with this forum or with you, Fenella. And it's certainly NOTHING AT ALL to do with trolling!!!!!!!!!  scratch What gave you the idea that this is about trolling? dunno  dunno  dunno

Down, boy!! you excitable lil prick!

Starbold, you barked that BD was the only person left posting at my place, knowing damn well that I would REPLY.
My REPLY was that many others are there, posting every day, including 4 friends of yours, including Mags and Abs.
It's always YOU who brings up the subject of how busy my place is, as you did in this case and in every single case.

If you did not keep bringing up the subject of how busy my place is, I would not have to keep replying, Starbold, you repulsive lil mo-mo prick. up yours

Canny, why on earth would you post on this forum that you were going to delete someone on your forum?

You have not moved on from fighting, you just confine it to a more private area. If you have anything to say, say it to me here in public and don't hide away.

Okey dokey Fenella, when you have finished blushing click on these two links, then you can blush all over again cos
in one case the member posted a thread HERE thinking that the wording of his deletionmessage was made by me, not forumotion. Look who corrected him, btw.

in the other case, the member posted a thread elsewhere, where i'm not even a member, again grumbling about my overstrict rules when and this time look who corrected him and told him that they were not my rules. Embarassed

WTF? Both of those threads are from last November. If you wanted to talk about it on here, why not post in that particular thread instead of making a new random thread about "Forumotion rules" when it was clearly nothing nothing to do with Forumotion rules? You said you were deleting the new account, so it was nothing to do with Forumotion and their automatic messages. In fact, why respond at all? You don't have to respond to every little mention of your forum you know.

Perhaps I'm missing something significant here. Can anyone else explain?

IMO you should never have come near this thread, Fenella, unless you wished to say a friendly hello to me.

It was not a dig at you, not remotely, it was not about trolling,  and it had absolutely nowt to do with you.

Another thing, why do you never let me decide for myself where to put threads? You imperiously  wheel them to another destination. I made this thread in the closed section and you wheeled it to the open section!  Other members are allowed to make their own decision where they want to put threads, you don't do this to them. Similarly, I say something in a pm, you always  broadcast the contents in the open forum - are you for real?

This was never a hostile topic and you could have easily avoided this almighty hoohaa of a circus. Ironically I carefully explained what the topic was about, in the very first line of my OP, in bold letters.

I did this thread cos I did not want to see yet another  excitable thread from Rupert/Stormee /Starbold/Tytonic complaining about rules/wording attributed to me. Cos I was about to delete Tytonic from my database, and I have now one so.

Canny, I always liked your rather quirky posts, but are you now becoming some kind of megolomaniac? If so, please become one on your own forum if you haven't already done so.

I moved this thread to the open section because you do these hit and run posts and don't bother to read the replies - much like you don't bother to read replies to PM, which is why I didn't send you one. This is the best way to reply to you, and quite frankly, I'm fed up of your tactics.

I haven't broadcast your PMs on the open forum at all, except to give one small reply ages ago because I know you don't read replies to PMs. Next time - say it all openly - after all, you like things to be open and honest don't you?

All you had to do was read the OP of this my thread properly. That would save you asking questions.

If an applicant is deleted, a message is sent to them that is worded in a particular way. He makes threads grumbling or gloating about the wording, clearly thinking it's attributed to me. Which is why he gets corrected by others.

Similarly he makes threads saying the rules are too strict, thinking it was me who made them. Again this is why he gets corrected.

In BOTH instances he is blaming me for things that are not done by me. And in both instances he is corrected by other. THAT is the connection.

I did not literally mean you should not have posted in this thread, it's just my way of over-stressing the point that this thread was in no way a dig at you.

You interpreted it as a dig at you, and whatever my faults and flaws (I know them very well) you should STILL have the humility to apologise for interpreting this thread totally the wrong way.

Hit and run? I would have defo returned to see the replies. WHAT'S THE MAD RUSH  to make me see your reply immediately, that made you feel compelled  to wheel the thread out in this bit, for a circus?

I'm certainly not going to apologise for anything. You should be apologising for starting a cryptic thread without explaining why in the first place.

The other reason I moved it is to do with things you said elsewhere, which I won't repeat obviously. You really are becoming a bit barmy Canny. Rolling Eyes

This thread would have been a tiny, tiny, private thread with just one or two replies, possibly friendly replies .... if you had not wheeled it out here and made a terrible fenella-type fuss over it, based on you mistakenly taking the thread personally, when in fact it had diddly squat to do with you.
