Name Calling, Personal Nastiness On Forums

There iz a lot of it about, iz it really necessary?

I disapprove of the 'personal' bit.

If someone is nasty, insultz myself I am not bothud too much but if a foruma whom I like/respect does it to me then it duz cut a bit.

Some forumz are unnecessarily rife with it IMO.

It iz easy to note those who do it regular as it is easy to note those who occasionally do such out of frustration.

I don't like to see someone being abused on a forum...nasty name calling is just so cowardly and childish.
For some posters it's their response.....it's what they do, probably because they don't have the brains to actually discuss or debate like an adult.

I don't like it either. It's so like a school playground,but worse. Those are meant to be the adults!

Those who START the name calling usually weasel their way out of it with the blessing of forum management

The worst name callers ime are ALWAYS the ones who press the report button everytime someone gets one over on them.

Bit like bullies, they are the first ones to crumble when they meet their match.

I agree, its so silly as no one really knows the other person, just a name on a forum. It can hurt though, I've known people really hurt by it, its nasty.

When I first joined the Mirror one of the nicest posters told me that she would never join another forum because of the way she had been targeted by some nasty bastard.
Not sure if anyone remembers but after that forum finished the pm system was still active for a while....that's when she told me.
As far as I know she never did.
Major liked her too...he will know who I mean.

Besides the nastiness it is the lying, misquoting and the bent management sitting and laffin, I rarely do name call and lie but when I do I get a sense of revenge retribution, that is how I feel and the truth whether or not people agree or not.

I cannot remember myself starting on anyone with nastiness, eventually I do retaliate and sorta get the thin end of the wedge, not that I am bothud, just annoyed a bit.

I enjoy posting with forumuz where anyone can say anything, obviously within reason, get a telling off but not insulted, called names and harangued, then carry on respecting each other.

Truthfully I believe I am becoming less tolerant of anyone having a nasty go at me, lying about me or someone else.

There are some nice people on forumz, should be thankful for small mercy.
